On a Sparkling Day, Falmouth Holds Its 56th Annual Holiday Parade

Billed as Southeastern Massachusetts’ biggest holiday parade,

Falmouth’s extravaganza had something for everyone

fire engines

and trains

Minnie Mouse and

Santa Claus

marching bands

and clowns,

some of whom also juggled,

Clydesdales, who

suggled during a pause in the action,

dogs,

real and imaginary

and of course kids, on tractors

and on horseback.

All in all, a pretty perfect day.

I’ve never measured a successful trip by how many destinations I can circle on a map or check off a Bucket List. To me the best journey, and the best ravel, moves more like a good conversation.
