First established in 1828, it served as a beacon for sailors for decades. Today it is being renovated as a museum by Friends of Nobska Light. Across the road, a couple occupied the bench facing this plaque, itself past bunches of wild berries. But I could still hobble on my crutches for views of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Sound. Kathy pointed out Woods Hole down the road to Devon, then back up the trail on crutches to our car.
