Falmouth’s Hidden Gem: A Walk to the Knob

Just off the main road between Falmouth

and Woods Hole is a sweet outcropping

known as the Knob.

The trail is less than a mile.

The wind can howl here, but

on a nice day the sun dazzles.

The light dances.

And visitors can sit on the rocks,

or walk to a beach

covered with pinkish boulders.

Then it’s back to Quissett Harbor and the ride home.

I’ve never measured a successful trip by how many destinations I can circle on a map or check off a Bucket List. To me the best journey, and the best ravel, moves more like a good conversation.
