A Late Fall Day at Coonamessett Farm

Halloween is past but pumpkins remained

at this weekend’s Artisan Fair at the 20-acre Coonamessett Farm in Falmouth

We stopped to admire jewelry, art and clothes;

bought a few bracelets from the youngest artisans there;

and walked past the tractor

to the animals behind the fields.

I just handed in my grades for what may finally be

the last class I ever teach.

Which means, I, too, will have time

to hang out with alpacas and goats,

enjoy the last of the fall sun,

and take in the views of the countryside.
